Réappropriations – Towards a regenerative approach to architecture

The exhibition Réappropriations, organized from November 4 to 22, 2025, by the Cultural Institute of Architecture Wallonia-Brussels (ICA) at TU Graz, invites audiences to discover spatial strategies that mend the damaged world we live in.

These projects, at both the architectural and territorial scales, propose densifying the existing built fabric rather than consuming undeveloped land, regenerating existing buildings rather than demolishing and rebuilding, and, finally, incorporating the reuse of construction materials. Models, photographs, films, drawings, collages and interviews establish a dialogue between realised architectural projects, spatial studies conducted by experts, and participatory work with citizens.
